Brief Biography and Political Journey
Reyat Hossain Sarkar is a grassroots leader and a dedicated, accessible voice for the people of Murshidabad. Currently serving as the Member of Legislative Assembly from the Bhagabangola constituency, he represents the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC). He first stepped into the state assembly following a crucial 2024 by-election, a responsibility he took on to continue serving his community after the untimely passing of his predecessor. Since then, he has proven himself to be a highly reliable representative, earning the renewed trust of local voters to secure re-election in the 2026 assembly elections.
Before taking on the role of an MLA, Reyat Hossain worked extensively at the local administrative level as a Zilla Parishad Karmadhakshya.
